What is a photo evaluation?

A photo evaluation is a service you can order from Orthosnap, completely free, to get an estimate of the length and cost estimate for a patient case. It also comes with a complimentary smile animation

Many doctors use this tool to discuss clear aligners with patients before expending time and effort on a full case workup. It takes less time and helps you convert more cases.

Many patients will only decide to accept treatment if it meets their criteria of affordability and length. Therefore the doctor can simply collect some photos of the patient's teeth and submit the case to get an estimate and animation.

What kind of photos do we need?

Orthosnap needs intra-oral and extra-oral photographs

  • Intra-oral - Occluded anterior, right side, left side, upper arch, & lower arch

  • Extra-oral - Patient's face at rest, smiling, and profile

What happens next?

After you've presented the photo evaluation to your patient and answered all their questions, they'll offer you some indication if they accept, require modifications, or reject clear aligner therapy completely.

If the patient rejects, please cancel the case by going to the Orthosnap portal, clicking on the patient, and selecting the 'Actions' button in the upper right corner > 'Cancel case'

If the patient requires modifications, please schedule a clinical call to revise the case. Also found in the Orthosnap portal, click on the patient, and select 'Actions' > 'Schedule a clinical call'

If the patient accepts treatment, please complete the missing parts of your clear aligner workup: scans, photos, radiographs, and Rx, while your patient is in the chair. Then from the Orthosnap portal, patient page, there will be an 'Order Aligners' button in the Required Actions box.

The portal will walk you through adding any missing necessary information and files to complete the case submission.
