Yes, you can upload STL files from almost any scanner — and that’s fantastic. To keep things moving, simply include the Rx form so we can start your case right away.

📤 Scan Alone Isn’t Enough

Submitting an STL file gives us your patient’s scan — a great first step! To ensure we can begin treatment right away, don’t forget to include the case details. This helps our team understand exactly how to proceed and deliver the best results for your patient.

That’s why every case must include an Rx submission through the Orthosnap Portal.

This Rx lets us know:

  • What type of treatment is required

  • Which teeth should be moved (and which shouldn't)

  • Preferred treatment goals

  • Any special instructions or clinical notes

✅ How to Submit a New Case

🚀 How to Submit Your Case (the Complete Way)

  1. Upload your STL file — from iTero, 3Shape, Medit, or almost any scanner.

  2. You can start your case submission right here: Submit your case on the Orthosnap Portal

  3. Need help with the steps? We’ve got you covered: Step-by-step article: How to Submit a Case Online

📝 Pro tip: Submitting your scan without an Rx is like ordering a prescription without telling the pharmacist what it’s for.

💡 Think of it this way: STL = image of the problem. Rx = instructions for the solution.

✨ Why It Matters: Without an Rx, scans sit in our system without direction. That can lead to:

  • Delays in aligner creation

  • Unnecessary back-and-forth

  • Misinterpreted treatment plans

So before you close your browser, double-check: STL file uploaded? Great. Rx submitted? Even better.

Let’s keep your cases moving smoothly!
